Winter’s Garden

Winter has filled her garden with kinetic sculptures–art that moves.  Here are a few of her inspirations.

This is Tinguely Fountain in Basel, Switzerland. The artist, Jean Tinguely, created this series of sculptures in 1971. You can probably guess that the first one is Winter’s inspiration for her Pawing Man sculpture.

Believe it or not, this is the inspiration for Winter’s Shopping Bag Crab. Yes, it’s a Honda Accord ad. For it, Honda assembled a Rube Goldberg assembly of parts working together to start the car.

“Engaging, spirited characters and a plot that can stand on its own…This story could provide great fodder for discussions about the relative roles of government, business and the individual in a world of increasing consolidation and conformity.”
